Insurance Information

Here is what you can do to help verify your insurance coverage for acupuncture.  Acupuncture Accuracy can bill your insurance, but we suggest that you do the following before your first visit in order to avoid unexpected bills.

1. Call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card. Record the date and who you spoke with.

 2. Ask the customer service specialist these questions:

  • Do I need a referral for acupuncture treatment? What kind or from who?
  • What is my annual maximum for complementary care/acupuncture services? Do I have a dollar maximum or a visit limit?
  • How much money or how many visits do I have left?  (Most plans have acupuncture grouped with naturopathy and chiropractic care. If you see a chiropractor or ND in addition to an acupuncturist, your visits with them will also be deducted from your maximum benefit.
  • Does my plan run on a calendar year? What is the effective date of my plan? (Some people have plans that renew in October. It is good to know.)
  • When your benefits will max out and/or begin again?
  • What is my deductible for this year? How much has been met?
  • Is there a co-pay or co-insurance for acupuncture treatment? What percentage of the amount is covered?
